On August 6, North Vancouver MP and Environment Minister Jonathan Wilkinson and North Vancouver–Lonsdale MLA Bowinn Ma announced federal and provincial funding allocated for improving Grouse Mountain’s trail system.

The B.C. government will provide over $1.1 million while the federal government will provide over $1.3 million.

The improvements will include an extension of the plaza at the main trailhead to improve access to the Grouse Grind, a reconstruction and realignment of about 2,900 metres of the B.C. Mountaineering Club Trail (BCMC Trail, located east of the Grouse Grind), and additions of more trail connections, interpretative and way-finding signage, kiosks, and viewpoints.
