New Democrat MLAs Susie Chant and Bowinn Ma are announcing recipients of provincial funding to help make sure local fairs, festivals and other events continue throughout 2023 and 2024.
In North Vancouver, 25 events are receiving a total of $376,800 including $129,700 for Squamish Nation’s 100th Amalgamation Anniversary Celebration, $23,300 for MRG Event’s Shipyard’s Festival, and $17,700 for the Vancouver International Mountain Film Fall Festival. With $340,600 going to West Vancouver; a grand total of $717,400 is going to the North Shore.
This investment into local events is part of the $30 million in one-time grants the province pledged for Fairs, Festivals, and Events to continue the recovery of a vibrant and strong tourism industry and support our innovative arts industry in B.C.
