The new homes will be overseen by Sea to Sky Community Services Society.

The District of Squamish will lease the land to the society at a nominal rate for a period of 60 years.

The society is receiving $8 million in capital funding from the province’s Building BC: Community Housing Fund.

“After years where the old government ignored people’s housing needs in Squamish, projects like this are long overdue,” said Bowinn Ma, MLA for North Vancouver-Lonsdale. “Our government has been acting quickly to build more housing for people in Squamish and throughout the province. This new project will see even more people move into safe and secure homes they can afford in their community.”
