LGBT2Q+ Rights in BC

Sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression are protected attributes of a person under BC’s Human Rights Code. This means that it is illegal to discriminate against person on the basis of their sex, how they present their gender, or who they love and/or are attracted to. The BC Government is committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression, is able to live a life that is free from prejudice and discrimination, which is why we will be re-establishing the BC Human Rights Commission to promote and protect┬áhuman rights.
